How to request the opening of a "Campaign"?
Those who wish to request funds using Pepa Loba must register on the website and fill in the form to propose a campaign.
A confirmation email will always be sent if the Campaign has been received. If no response of any kind is received after 7 days, please contact us.
If the Campaign is accepted, you will receive a second email indicating the next steps. This second email will be sent no earlier than 10 days from the receipt of the first email.
How to request the opening of an "Anti-Repressive Alert"?
The same steps indicated in the section "How to request the opening of a Campaign?" must be followed.
Is there any time limit for a "Campaign" or an "Anti-Repressive Alert" to remain open?
"Campaigns" and "Anti-Repressive Alerts" remain open for 75 days (whether or not they reach their goal, either during that period or earlier). Once this period has expired, they are closed, and the process of transferring the funds collected to the person who launched the "Campaign" or the "Anti-Repressive Alert" begins.
Can the money raised be accessed before the funding round of a "Campaign" or an "Anti-Repressive Alert" is completed?
In the case of "Campaigns", the funds cannot be accessed until the 75-day funding round has been completed. However, the person promoting an "Anti-Repressive Alert" may request early payment of the funds if they wish, provided that the financial target of the "crowdfunding" has been reached.
How is the amount of money to be requested calculated?
Pepa Loba does not charge any type of commission because its purpose is to facilitate the work of people and organizations that fight for a fairer world.
However, the use of current payment systems such as digital cards, bank transfers (or any other system) entails the charging of commissions and/or fees by financial institutions, which are around 2%. In addition, depending on the country and the institution, other types of tax costs or external charges may also be added. Pepa Loba will in no case assume these commissions, levies, or taxes, which will be borne entirely by the person or entity promoting the campaign.
For this reason, it is recommended that the amount requested by the interested party takes the above into account and adds 2.5% (2% for expenses and/or bank fees + 0.5% for tax costs or external charges) to the amount that is effectively requested. For example: if an organization intends to raise €3,000, it must request a minimum of €3,075 [€3,000 + €75 (2.5% of €3,000)].
What is the procedure when a "Campaign" or "Anti-Repressive Alert" is accepted?
Once the necessary reviews and adjustments have been completed, when a "Campaign" or "Anti-Repressive Alert" is accepted, it will be notified via email or phone call, as well as through the web interface. Another contact will be made to establish the contract that sets the conditions for the delivery of the funds raised and that binds us around the requested case. On the established date, the campaign or alert will finally be opened to the public.
What happens once the "Campaign" or "Anti-Repressive Alert" is launched?
The case will be published on our website with its own dedicated link. From that point on, the "Campaign" or "Anti-Repressive Alert" can be disseminated freely!
On the website, it will be possible to track the amount accumulated through the different contributions to the "Campaign" or the "Anti-Repressive Alert", as well as to consult the history and related statistics. Additionally, the promoter will be able to publish updates in the form of blog posts, which will be received by those who have contributed and left their contact details.
How is the process for receiving the money?
Once the "Campaign" or the "Anti-Repressive Alert" is launched, the person promoting it will receive a communication, via email or phone call, indicating the information that must be provided for the drafting of the contract. At the same time, they will be informed of the steps to follow from that moment onwards.
In order to receive the funds obtained, a bank account must be provided, among other required details.
Payment procedures will not be initiated until the 75-day duration of the "Campaign" or the "Anti-Repressive Alert" has ended. From that moment on, up to 30 working days may elapse from the closing date of the fundraising for the promoter to receive the funds collected in the bank account provided for this purpose, except in cases beyond Pepa Loba's control.
What is the deadline for receiving the funds raised?
Pepa Loba will pay the amounts raised within a period not exceeding 30 working days from the closing date of the fundraising, except for causes beyond Pepa Loba's control.
Does Pepa Loba charge any kind of commission on the total amount raised?
Pepa Loba does not charge for its services. Its solidarity-based approach is one of the elements that structures its functioning. The aim is to create a tool that facilitates the development of projects and initiatives that benefit the collective as a whole. The only costs deducted from the total amount raised by the promoters will be those derived from the banking institutions or any other entity required for processing the transfer of funds to the promoter.
Does the promoter receive 100% of the money collected?
No, since the expenses generated by bank fees and by any levies, charges, or taxes of any kind that may be applied must be deducted from the total amount raised.
Pepa Loba will not charge any commission, but it will also not assume the aforementioned costs, which will be fully borne by the promoter of the "Campaign" or "Anti-Repressive Alert".
What happens if 100% of the money is not raised?
Exactly the same as would happen if 100% of the money is raised. Whoever promotes a "Campaign" or "Anti-Repressive Alert" will receive the amount raised, minus the expenses generated by bank fees and by any levies, charges, or taxes of any kind that may be applied, which will be fully borne by the promoter(s).
What happens if 100% of the requested amount is exceeded?
Pepa Loba and "Burla Negra" are tools designed to make it easier for individuals and organizations to carry out initiatives, projects, campaigns, and actions through a tool that allows them to obtain the funding they need in order to develop them. Both the promoters and Pepa Loba participate in the construction of alternatives and social responses through joint and solidarity-based work.
Pepa Loba understands that whoever promotes a "Campaign" or "Anti-Repressive Alert" has previously carried out a thorough analysis of what will be needed and that, as a result of that analysis, requests an amount adjusted to their needs.
If this is the case, once 100% of the total requested has been obtained (and once the expenses generated by commissions or taxes have been deducted), the promoter of the "Campaign" or "Anti-Repressive Alert" will donate the surplus funds to Pepa Loba's common fund, with the purpose of supporting the initiatives and projects that may be developed within the association.
What is DSR (Reciprocal Solidarity Donation)?
Pepa Loba understands that relationships between people and organizations that fight for a fairer world must be built by placing solidarity at the center, through networks in which the parties support each other. Pepa Loba is a non-profit association that does not have any paid members within its structure. The only motivation shared by all the people who are part of it is to confront the abuses of transnational corporations and states.
The Reciprocal Solidarity Donation is the donation made by individuals or organizations promoting a crowdfunding campaign to Pepa Loba in two cases:
- When a "Campaign" or "Anti-Repressive Alert" exceeds 100% of its target. Pepa Loba provides all its resources so that whoever promotes a "Campaign" or "Alert" can achieve their goals, and if successful, they contribute by donating the surplus raised to Pepa Loba's common fund in order to help strengthen the organization.
- When there is a reimbursement of the amount of a sanction, fine, or process that was paid through crowdfunding via an "Anti-Repressive Alert". Whoever promotes an "Anti-Repressive Alert" receives funds from people who contribute in solidarity so that they can face their sanction. In the event that, after a judicial or administrative process, the promoter of the "Alert" obtains the reimbursement of the financial amount of the sanction, they are expected to maintain the same spirit of solidarity with someone who may need it, and therefore contribute that amount by donating it to "Burla Negra".
What are the donations made by "Campaign" or "Anti-Repressive Alert" promoters used for?
Pepa Loba uses all the funds obtained to cover ongoing expenses (servers, domains, etc.) and occasional expenses (travel, leaflets, etc.) in order to expand its activities, as well as to promote, develop, and contribute to the development of projects, initiatives, campaigns, and actions related to alternatives and social response.
Can money from one "Campaign" be used to fund another, or an "Anti-Repressive Alert", or the other way around?
No. Each "Campaign" or "Anti-Repressive Alert" has a specific funding purpose, so the financial contribution made by those who support it will only be allocated to that same initiative. From the moment it is launched until it is completed, each "Campaign" or "Anti-Repressive Alert" has a defined and unalterable purpose, completely independent from the others that are developed.
Can the information on the website be updated once the "Campaign" or the "Anti-Repressive Alert" has been launched?
Yes. The textual information and images chosen by the person promoting a "Campaign" or an "Anti-Repressive Alert" can be updated as the fundraising progresses through the management panel on the website. It is also recommended to report updates through the blog provided in the management panel.
What is the "Project Report"?
The person promoting a "Campaign" or an "Anti-Repressive Alert" must submit a "Project Report", which is a document that includes the financial data and the actions of the funded project. This "Project Report" will be submitted at the end of the calendar year following the year in which the funds raised through the "Campaign" or the "Anti-Repressive Alert" were received. The specifications for this document will be provided before signing the contract.
